As the founder of Cross Law, Tyson Cross’s practice includes all aspects of estate planning and tax law, with a particular emphasis on helping families and small business owners. Licensed to practice law in both California an Nevada, Tyson has helped clients in both states with complex trust planning, business entity formations, and tax reduction strategies. He has also represents clients in all types of tax litigation and tax controversies before the Internal Revenue Service, Nevada Department of Taxation, and California Franchise Tax Board.
Prior to entering private practice, Tyson earned a Masters of Laws in Taxation (LL.M.) from New York University School of Law, the nation’s highest ranked and most prestigious tax law program. Tyson graduated law school near the top of his class from the Boyd School of Law at UNLV, where he was an editor of the Gaming Law Journal and president of the Nevada Justice Association. While in law school, Tyson was given the CALI Award for Excellence in estate planning, real estate transactional drafting, and property law. Tyson hold a bachelors degree in Finance from the University of Nevada, Reno and graduated from Bishop Manogue High School.
Personal & Community Involvement
When not practicing law, Tyson enjoys spending time with his wife and one-year old daughter. He also enjoys playing basketball and spending time outdoors. Tyson and his family actively attend Life Church in Reno, NV. Tyson also sits on the Advisory Board of the Community Foundation of Western Nevada, where he serves on the investment committee.
